Our alerts function allows you to set a range of alerts for inappropriate activity. For example, let us notify you if your children attempt to delete one of our Family Zone Protection apps from their device. Along with notifications we’ll provide you with expert advice from cyber safety experts.
What are Alerts and Red Flags?
Alerts are notifications that there has been some activity which we think you should be aware of. They normally come in the form of an email, a To do (in your account) or a push notification.
Alerts may be triggered for a variety of reasons including that a user has accessed or downloaded something risky or inappropriate or they’ve attempted to or actually violated our controls.
If an alert relates to an activity which suggests mis-behavior we will log a “Red Flag”.
How long do Red Flags remain in the system?
Who gets the alerts?
Alerts are sent to anyone with parental access to your account.
What are To dos?
Where an alert relates to activity which requires you to take action, we create a To do. To dos are logged in your account (To do menu) when the alert is sent. You can close and mute To dos.

What types of alerts are sent?
Device not seen in 14 days (creates a Red Flag)
Family Zone app has been removed (creates a Red Flag)
Hazardous app found (creates a Red Flag)
Malware detected (creates a Red Flag)
Family Zone may have been tampered with (creates a Red Flag)
Device management removed (creates a Red Flag)
Device permissions have been violated (creates a Red Flag)
What should I do when I get an alert?
Read the instructions we provide. This will typically include specific instructions to fix any problem. You should also discuss the alert with your child. There may be a reason why they are trying to turn off Family Zone protection.
I keep getting alerts. Why and what is my child doing?
Most likely they’re trying to bypass our controls.
This may be because the controls are too strict or that they wish to do improper things. Talk to your child and find out what they are trying to access and adjust controls accordingly.

How do I deal with regular misbehaviour?
Breakdowns in behaviour are an opportunity to communicate and engage. Check out our guide to dealing with misbehaviour.
Can I turn off alerts?
You can turn off the Device not seen in 24 hours alerts. You are unable to turn off the other alerts.

Do alerts cover school time activity?
Yes, you’ll get alerts if your child triggers one of the alerts during school time.
This feature is available on both Premium and Insights subscriptions.
This feature requires:
An active monitoring of filtering service running such as one of Family Zone’s protection apps or our Home Network; and
Users to be set to “tracked” in your account.
