To manage YouTube restrictions via your online account:

  1. Sign in to your online account 

  2. Click on the user whose Internet Filtering Rules you want to manage

  3. Click on the Profile name in their dashboard

  4. Check the age profile is reflected in the first drop down box

  5. Select Search and Streaming media from the second drop down

  6. Click on the different access periods to allow (blue) or block (red)

    1. General YouTube Access and

    2. Mature and uncategorised YouTube content

To manage YouTube Restrictions  via the Family Zone app on a parent device:

  1. Open the Family Zone app on a parent device

  2. Click on the user whose internet filtering rules  you want to change

  3. Click Internet filter & rules

  4. Select Search and Streaming media from the second drop down

  5. Click Done

  6. Click on the different access periods to allow (blue) or block (red)

    1. General YouTube Access and

    2. Mature and uncategorised YouTube content

What settings do I need to have so that YouTube restrictions are enabled?

YouTube restrictions are enabled when Mature and uncategorised YouTube content is blocked (red).

Do I need to save changes?

No. Our system saves the changes as you make them.

What does blocking General YouTube access do?

Blocking General YouTube Access blocks all access to YouTube through the website and apps.

Can I have different rules for different children?

Yes, if they are in different age profiles.

How do I know which Age Profile my child is in?

You can see what age profile your child is in from their user dashboard accessed by going Users > Family then clicking on your child.

TIP: Clicking on the profile link will take you straight to the correct age profile for that child.

How long does it take for the changes to take effect?

Changes take around 30 seconds to take effect.  

TIP: Some browsers cache data which means you might want to test your changes in an incognito or private browser session.  

What times are the different access periods?

The times for the different access periods are set in your child’s routine.
