How to create a standard user account on Windows 10


Step 1. Press Windows + i to bring up the Windows Settings.

Step 2. Click Accounts.



Step 3. Navigate to Family & other people. 

Step 4. Under Other People section, click the Add someone else to this PC button. 



Step 5. In the Microsoft account window click the I don’t have this person’s sign-in information link at the bottom.



Step 6. On the next page, select the Add a user without a Microsoft account link at the bottom.



Step 7. Type a username, password, and password hint, and then click Next.



Step 8. Under the Other people section, the new user account will now be displayed. On the first sign in with this account, setup will be completed by Windows.



By default your local user account is set as a limited account, meaning it cannot install applications or make administrative changes to the machine.
