Family Zone enforces parental controls through identifying a device and associating it with a device 'owner'. The device owner (a family member) then has their Cyber Safety Profile applied to the device.

Things you need to know

Registering devices
When first connecting devices to your Family Zone home network, they will need to be registered to a family member. You can register devices by browsing to home.tools on the device, or by actioning the 'To Do' that appears in Family Zone Web Account or Zone Manager App. Find out how to register a device here.

Managing devices
Devices can be easily managed from within the Family Zone Web Account or Zone Manager App 'Devices' page which is located under Home Network menu.

Family Zone App
If a kid's smart device has the Family Zone App installed, the VPN will disconnect when they are connected to the Family WiFi network. Find out more about the Family Zone App here.

Guest devices
New devices connecting to your network will be assigned to the guest profile, find out more about guests on your network here.

How do I register a device?

Can I remove a device from my Family Zone?
Yes, you can remove a device from your Family Zone network in the 'Devices' page under the Home Network menu.

I'm not sure if a device has been registered already, how can I check this?
You can check this by browsing to home.tools on the device. If the device is registered, it will show you the user it is assigned to.

I want to control my kid's smart devices and PCs separately, can I do this?
Yes, parents can easily control individual devices separately. A new family member will need to be created to do this. Once created, a routine and internet access for the device can be configured then assign the device to that family member.

What happens if I don't register a device?
The device will be assigned to the guest profile if it is not registered to a family member. This means it will not follow any family members routines and cannot be controlled via Quick Time Changes.
