Hello, we are a School and have noticed some students getting issues with internet access because we block VPNs at the firewall.
Can you please advise how we can go about selecting a wifi network to make exempt or whitelist from scanning? Due to the ipad trying to connect to the family zone vpn and failing the student cannot access the internet.
Alternatively if there is a list of vpn endpoints or associated entries that we could whitelist on our firewall that that would be appreciated.
Thanks for letting us know. We work hard to ensure that our customers are protected at school without inhibiting their ability to participate in every day life and studies. We have a list of schools in our system which we have the SSID for. When a student associated with that school logs onto their listed SSID, our system recognises it and turns our VPN and filtering off. If you would like to give us the SSID for your school (password not required) and let us know what the name of your school and what area your school is in we can add this to our system. The next step would be to let any parents at your school with Family Zone know that they will need to make sure their child is added to your school by clicking on the child's profile in Portal and selecting Settings.
If they are having any issues or would like assistance, please feel free to direct them to us and we can talk them through it.
Hi Katie, thank you for the information. I will raise a support ticket to provide family zone with our SSID details and School information. Once this is complete I will then notify the parents involved to update the students profile.
